INTRODUCTION ------------------------ This document describes how to install hotfix 3096600 (hotfix #60) for Microsoft Dynamics Retail Management System (RMS) 2.0 Cumulative Update 5. Microsoft Dynamics RMS hotfixes are cumulative and contain all fixes that are included in hotfixes released since the last feature pack, service pack, or cumulative update. 2. BEFORE YOU INSTALL ------------------------ IMPORTANT - Before you install this hotfix, you must have installed Cumulative Update 5 (CU5) for Microsoft Dynamics RMS 2.0. - This hotfix modifies report files installed on your machine. For more details, see the Note later in this file Store Operations In a single store that uses Store Operations with one or more computers, install this hotfix on all the computers. Install the hotfix when no activity will occur in Store Operations POS or in Store Operations Manager, such as when the store is closed. Make sure that the hotfix is installed on all the computers before you use Store Operations POS or Store Operations Manager. Environments that are only partially updated have not been tested and are not supported. Headquarters If you use Headquarters in multiple stores, install this hotfix on all the computers in all the stores. Install the hotfix when no activity will occur at the stores. Install the hotfix on each computer that has the following programs installed: Store Operations POS Store Operations Manager Headquarters Client Headquarters Manager Headquarters Server Voucher Client Voucher Server Make sure that the hotfix is installed on all computers that are running either Store Operations or Headquarters before you use any Microsoft Dynamics RMS program. Environments that are only partially updated have not been tested and are not supported. We recommend that you stop communications between Headquarters Client and Headquarters Server and between Voucher Client and Voucher Server before you install this hotfix. To do this, stop the servers and exit out of the client programs. After you install this hotfix at all stores and at the head office, you can resume regular data uploads. 3. INSTALL THE HOTFIX ------------------------ To install the hotfix 1. Close all Microsoft Dynamics RMS programs. 2. Log on with an account that has administrator privileges. 3. Download the hotfix by following the instructions that you received from Microsoft Dynamics RMS Customer Support. 4. Double-click the compressed file that you downloaded, and then click Continue in the Microsoft Self-Extractor dialog box. 5. Select the folder where you want to extract the files, and then click OK. 6. If you received a password from Microsoft Dynamics RMS Customer Support, type the password, and then click OK. 7. Click OK to close the Microsoft Self-Extractor dialog box. 8. Right-click the Retail2.0-3096600.exe file, click Run as administrator, and then provide administrator credentials. The hotfix installer will guide you through the rest of the installation. 4. VERIFY THE INSTALLATION --------------------------- To verify that the hotfix is installed, open any Microsoft Dynamics RMS Store Operations or Headquarters program, click the Help menu, and then click About. If the version number that is listed is 2.0.2022, the hotfix is installed. 5. WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE HOTFIX ---------------------------------- IMPORTANT - This hotfix modifies report files installed on your machine. If you have made any modification to files installed with Microsoft Dynamics RMS, make backups of these files prior to installing the hotfix. After install, merge your customizations into the new files in order to receive the updated reports. Note that some report changes might be part of a previous hotfix and not listed below. This hotfix includes fixes for the following issues: - Changed the minimum requirements for SQL block size for database backup functionality to overcome the database backup failure with Windows 10 - Added [Transaction].Comment and [Transaction].ReferenceNumber field in #ListOpenAccountReceivables store procedure for custom AR report 6.
